Meet Claudine. With her mother dealing with health issues and her youngest siblings still in school, life is very demanding. She is known to many as “Spark” and lives up to her name with a joyful disposition and passion for art and music, while also holding a degree in Chemical Engineering– the hardest degree to attain in the Philippines! Claudine cares for her family and hopes her siblings will be able to finish school and that her mother will have a chance to travel. At work and at home, Claudine uplifts those around her and wants to help them fulfill their dreams.
Claudine used her Chemical Engineering skills in many ways before arriving at Dignity. From working as a Plant Supervisor at a Food Redressing Plant to being a contractual employee at a Government Agency, her hard work provided her with many opportunities. But even though she was using her degree, Claudine was still longing for work that was fulfilling.
That was when one of the employees at Dignity shared about a Research Staff position with her. Claudine researched in depth about the company’s mission and was intrigued by the ability to fight poverty and help her community. This was a drastic difference from the purpose of her previous work and she knew it was time to try something new. She has found the challenges and opportunities to be refreshing compared to her previous experiences and has rekindled her excitement for personal growth and learning. Just as Claudine continues to seek ways for her family to achieve their goals, she has now found a way to do the same for herself.
