Sandy

Sandy has always been a good and helpful man — he enjoys simple things like playing volleyball or going deep sea fishing. His wife, Abigail, often joins him on these trips. She’s cheerful, hardworking, and his steady partner in everything. Together, they’re raising two sons, though life hasn’t been easy for them.

Their eldest boy has been sick since he was little, in and out of the hospital for treatments and checkups. Sandy still remembers one night when his son suddenly had the chills. He was alone, scared, and didn’t know what to do. All he could do was pray and ask God to save Ian. Thankfully, a kind nurse stayed with them, and his son made it through. Sandy will never forget that moment — and how God never left their side.

Before working at Dignity, Sandy worked hard as a laborer and hauler in Manila, loading yellow corn from Isabela and Tuguegarao and delivering it to Batangas for animal feed. Now, at Dignity, he cooks the coconut mash, taking pride in doing his job well and helping provide for his family.

He dreams of giving his children a better life — for his eldest to be fully healed, and for both his sons to finish school. He’s proud that when he and Abigail got married, they didn’t have to rely on anyone else financially. They built their life together from scratch, with love and faith.

Even if his work at Dignity is part-time, it’s a big help for his family. For Sandy, every day he gets to work, go fishing, or come home to his family is already a blessing.
