When Jason’s mother died, he and his family were devastated. Being so young, he took her death extremely hard and lived a long time resenting God for what happened. He lived with deep grief for years before he was able to accept her death and move forward.
The loss of his mother taught Jason the importance of being there for his loved ones. He began to value his family, his friends and others around him above anything else.
But because there were few jobs in the area, Jason had to work far way from home at fast food companies. When he was accepted to work for Dignity, Jason was overjoyed to provide for his family, work close to home and be a part of a company that helps the community.
Coming from a very different industry, Jason had a steep learning curve. He says, “Working with Dignity is happy but hard. There are lots to learn in my work even if the work is hard. But it is all worth it as long as we are happy in what we are doing.”
He noted that it’s rare to find a company where he feels valued as a person and where he feels purpose at the same time.
Jason describes himself as someone wanting to live a life of purpose. He is not interested in material things and does not waste his time on things and people that will affect him negatively. He is focused and has purpose.
He dreams of someday owning his own business where he can help the community, like Dignity. Businesses are scarce in this area, but he still dreams it will happen in his lifetime. Above all, Jason's biggest hope is for his family to learn to love God, love their family, and love those around him.
