Janice

Meet Janice. When Janice faced major pregnancy complications with her third child, she was forced to leave her job and care for herself. While her other two pregnancies had gone smoothly with her  two beautiful, healthy children, Janice was crushed by her new diagnosis and filled with sadness. She lost the baby and thought life would no longer look the same. She had been working at a different food processing factory away from home, but the health crisis led her to return as her parents took in her two other children.

Before working, Janice had attended college where she received her degree in Economics. In an area where less than 1% attends college, this rare accomplishment shows her commitment and intelligence. Janice worked diligently to provide the same opportunities for her children. As she began to heal from the physical pain and grief from her ectopic pregnancy, Janice desired to go back to work and keep providing for her family. However, her previous job had high physical demands and was far away from her children.

That was when she heard about job openings at Dignity and decided to apply. Within a few weeks, Janice felt a sense of purpose and wellbeing. She is now training to be in a leadership role in the processing department. Janice is driven by a strong sense of care, sharing “My goal. . .  is for my family to be okay, especially my children. . . I want to see my family happy and guide them in their faith.” She is an influential presence at work and home as she continues to heal and thrive even in the sorrow of deep loss.
