Meet Bryan. At 18 years old he is the only one of his family still at home as he works to make ends meet. His father passed away when he was only 10, leaving him to find work just a few years later. With just his mom and three siblings, everyone had to contribute. Bryan shares, “It was painful because he was the one who provided for us and loved us. If he hadn't passed away, my mother wouldn't have had to work.” Bryan worked while he finished his studies which meant full and tiring days. He longed for his mother to be able to rest rather than worry about the family.
His days were filled with work, first in construction, then in the rice fields, and even sea fishing. Bryan continued to look for something more consistent that would not require him to take the time away from his family to go to college. That was when he heard about Dignity. He applied right away and started out with just filling in for absent workers. Eventually, he got a permanent role and joined the team. Bryan enjoys the work and became good friends with his coworkers. He dreams of eventually going back to school and becoming a Ranger that is dedicated to protecting the country. Bryan is surrounded by kind people and continues to thrive in his new community.
