Why Use Coconut Oil on a Waffle Iron?
One of the questions home cooks often ask is: Can coconut oil be used in a waffle maker? The answer is absolutely yes, and here’s why:
-
High Smoke Point – Coconut oil can handle the heat of a waffle iron without burning.
-
Non-Stick Power – It naturally coats the iron, helping waffles release perfectly.
-
Flavor Boost – Adds a subtle, slightly sweet note that pairs beautifully with vanilla and fruit.
-
Cleaner Choice – Unlike cooking sprays full of additives, coconut oil is a simple, natural, farm-to-table option.
For this recipe, Mikayla used Dignity Made coconut oil, which adds the perfect touch of coconut sweetness and farmhouse freshness.
A Farm-to-Table Celebration
Homemade waffles are a tradition worth savoring. Milling your own flour, simmering a pot of compote, and whipping cream from scratch bring a depth of love and intention to the kitchen. Thanks to Mikayla Hermann for creating this recipe and showing how beautiful made-from-scratch, farmhouse cooking can be.
