ENOUGH RICE FOR 3,667 FAMILIES
That is 20 Elephants’ worth of rice
Good News!
The situation for our neighbors in the Philippines is desperate (If you missed it, read this blog). With the help of donations, we were able to deliver over 120,000 pounds of rice to our 3,667 neighboring households.
The COVID-19 situation certainly created challenges: multiple suppliers, skyrocketing rice prices, vehicle logistics, re-bagging, and distributing... all while most cannot leave their house/hut. More specifically, we were instructed that we could not "hand" any bag to a person.
Our staff and volunteers used their grit, determination, creativity, intelligence and ingenuity to bring your donations to families.

The strength of our volunteers and employees was extraordinary. Getting the rice to our location. Making household-size bags of rice out of huge sacks. Getting the rice to each person in need in two entire villages. Safely and timely.
How to get 40 pounds of rice each to thousands of households? No problem, says the village captain. He simply instructed word to be passed around that every household/hut should put a chair outside its door with a sign having their family name and any kind of slip of paper with a signature on it. The team delivers the rice, compares the cardboard family name to the name from the checklist, and picks up the "receipt". 3,667 times.
Feeding Families for 4-6 weeks!
Salamat Po means “Thank you”
Thank you to hundreds who made this possible! You fed two villages’ worth of families for 4-6 weeks. This goes beyond business as usual. Together, we are transforming communities. That’s worth celebrating!
